Monsanto and its coalition associates reportedly are planning to
spend a staggering $6 million to defeat Measure 27. Fortunately,
polls consistently have shown that 80 to 93 percent of Americans
want genetically engineered foods labeled. So the stage is set for
a huge fight, and we'll need a whole lot of help to get this historic
measure passed.
It's a real David vs. Goliath battle, with common Oregon citizens
and grassroots activists pitted against very wealthy corporate special
interests. Please tell everybody you know to vote YES
on Measure 27. Create as much buzz about the issue as you can among
your family, friends and colleagues. Let's show Monsanto that it
can't buy this election!

Vote "Yes" on Measure 27: Give Oregon voters a choice
on genetically engineered foods
Body:
This November, Oregon voters will have the chance to make a powerful
statement to the nation. Please vote "Yes" on Measure
27, which would require the labeling of genetically engineered foods
sold in, or distributed from, Oregon.
By and large, Americans want the right to know whether their foods
have been tampered with genetically. An ABC News poll last year
showed that an amazing 93 percent of Americans want genetically
engineered foods to be labeled. However, the biotech industry spends
an enormous amount of money lobbying Washington, D.C., and so far,
Congress has not acted.
Deciding not to wait for Congress to get its act together, more
than 100,000 Oregonians signed petitions this year to get Measure
27 onto the ballot.
Labels will allow people to choose whether or not to purchase genetically
engineered food products. Many scientists have expressed concerns
about the health and environmental effects of these controversial
new foods.
